JOHN TERRY led Chelsea into the FA Cup semi-finals and defiantly showed off his captain's armband.
His decisive goal against Stoke earned a last-four tie with Aston Villa, who beat Reading 4-2 after a hat-trick from John Carew.

JT has been a target for opposition fans since losing the England captaincy.

And he thanked the Blues for their support last night - appearing to compare it with a lack of backing in the Three Lions set-up.

Terry said: "The armband means a lot. Chelsea have been very supportive, the players as well.

"It has been a good week, good to get away with England, play well and then come back here and prepare for this game."

Chelsea No 2 Ray Wilkins hopes rival supporters will now call a halt to jeering Terry.

Wilkins said: "He is an exceptional captain. He leads these players on the pitch in fantastic fashion.

"I would like to think it would stop the abuse. It's served its course."
