Miralem Sulejmani, since a season in Heerenveen, is one of the Under21 player more interesting of Europe. We will know together this young talent still not so much known to the great public, but that in Holland is still shown his qualities.


Miralem Sulejmani born the 5 December 1988 in Belgrado, since he was a child start to play in a little club in Serbia, with the advice of the father, also him a player. When he was 16 year old, while the Belgrado of Slobodan Milosevic is in war, Miralem transfer to Partizan, where despite the difficulties continue to play.

Has been enough the presence in the season 2005/2006 in Under17 national serbian team, for attract the attention of Heerenveen talent scouts. In January 2007 he transfer in Holland for 1 million euros. Must remember as the dutch team is famous for have discovered young talents: Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Jon Dahl Tomasson and Afonso Alves.
Here he start to be called Sulejmani, but because the convocation in serbian national team he makes few presences between January and June with Heerenveen.
He shown his peformances scoring twice during the European Under 19 qualification with the national team.

In the season 2007/2008 he is used as starter, first of all like midfielder of left side, but during last months, after the departure of Afonso Alves, Heerenveen's manager Verbeek use him as striker, obtaining good results. Despite all the serbian player show his maturity and remember in many things the first Dejan Stankovic. His contract expiring in 2009, has been renewed recently until 2010, despite the offers coming from abroad.

Almost strong physically (178 cm X 75 Kg) Sulejmani has a great tactical intelligence. Put in the left field since, he is able to read the forward action well in advance and giving the ball to his teammates in good positions, while as striker he is so concentrated under door: in many of his goals is himself to give the ball to Midfielders, attacking space and stealing time opponents defenders. Observing him he is not so quickly, but thank to his legs strength he is able to score.

Miralem Sulejmani is one of the most promising player of Under 20 in Europe and we are sure that during next years we will hear his name approached to great team.
